Rachel Love and Clive Howseman Wedding
April the 1st, what a day to be married, it was no joke it really was happening for Rachel Love and Clive Howseman, they went for it in style!
I arrived early in the morning for what started as it finished, in full flow, non stop action. The choice of venue was the Chequers Inn in Woolsthorpe. http://www.chequersinn.net/index.html A quaint, tucked away little piece of heaven. Stunning views of Belvoir castle from the garden. Plenty of room for photographs outside too. Weather was forecast rain with a small window of dry which we had planned to use for portraits. But they got lucky, it was beautiful all day. The Inn itself is quite dark inside being 17th century, I prefer to use natural light, as did the registrar so my cameras ISO where pushed to their capabilities in dark rooms, but it was a lovely day to get outside.
The Bride and her bridesmaids got ready in the rooms in the converted stable block, which is opposite the inn. The organiser Jo, didn’t stop all day.
After a few shots of the Inn, I began the important job of capturing the day unfold with my assistant Janine. Its always great if you have two as you can't be everywhere and Janine is fantastic at seeing things ..This really is crucial on your wedding day so if you can stretch to it, the photographs are all you have at the end of the day. You are busy getting ready and making sure it all comes together that you don’t notice the small stuff. That’s our job!
The make up was started on the bridesmaids first while our Bride Rachel sipped her Processco.
The girls where having fun getting ready, if Rachel was nervous you wouldn’t have known. A lovely colour scheme of ivory and violet, very clean tastefully chosen and tastefully done with all the bridesmaids dresses and flowers matching in their own way.
Rachel looked absolutely stunning in her gorgeous princess gown, exquisite tulle with lace in a deep ivory, she looked every bit the princess in that gown, hair styled to match with understated make up expertly applied by Jacqui Wingfield,
she looked very classy.
Clive was waiting by the aisle, nerves not showing chatting to friends and family. But when Rachel came in the room escorted by her father, you could see the love and pride. Yes Clive you did get to marry her!
After wedding breakfast buffet with family and friends and some very emotional and funny speeches Food was great too, with a plentiful supply of quality food!
We went for a drive so they could spend a little time together and take in the occasion, we went to local beauty spots for some portraits. Belvoir Castle being one and a fantastic backdrop. There was only one thing missing and that was horses. Rachel being a keen horse woman and having her own at home, would have loved a photograph with her gown on, on horseback.
It was meant to be! Two riders came hacking up the road and one of them offered Rachel a chance she wasn’t going to turn down. Yes you got it, she got her photo on horseback. With Belvoir in the background. It totally made her day thanks to horse owner Nikki.
Back to the party in full flow where they cut the cake made by a friend which looked amazing, it told their story with silhouettes in icing all around it. The first dance came from the Band Superfuz then it was our time to leave.
A classy couple, fantastic vintage venue with very helpful staff. Very proud to have been the photographer and wish them a lifetime of happiness.. Congratulations!
